How to Work Multiple High Paying Jobs

6 years ago I went through a nasty divorce and was wiped out financially, I was close to bankruptcy but rather than go bankrupt, I chose to go out on a limb and try and work 2 outside sales jobs at the same time, just until my debt was paid. 6 years later I'm still working 2 jobs and I make twice as much as my peers, and I'm actually less stressed in this economy. If I get fired or laid off from one job, I still have the second. I took a horrible financial situation and worked a plan rather than go under. You can work 2 high paying jobs as well, here are a few tips for working 2 jobs.

How to work multiple high paying jobs tip #1. Be outside. In order to pull off multiple high paying jobs you will need to be a virtual employee. Working more than one job at the same time can be done fairly easily, however, you will need the privacy that working out of the office affords you. I remember a period of working more one high paying job where I was required to work in the office for one of them and it was a nightmare. I would have to go into the bathroom on an empty floor to make calls for my second job.

How to work multiple high paying jobs tip #2. Keep it separate. A common mistake that people make when working to high paying jobs is trying to save by using the same technology for both jobs. Never share cell phones, Blackberry or laptops. Carry 2 phones and 2 laptops. If you are worried about a co-worker noticing that you have 2 of everything and drawing a conclusion that you have 2 jobs, don't worry. On the phones just tell them that you keep your work and personal phones separate, you will just come off as taking your jobs seriously. Also with phones by having 2 you never accidentally answer the phone thinking its for job #1 when it job #2. On the laptops, unless they go into your bag they probably won't even notice the second computer, if they do. Just say you don't like to have anything on your work laptop and the second one is your personal one. You never know when an IT guy is going to need to look at your laptop so never do work on a laptop that is not assigned to that job.

How to work multiple high paying jobs tip #3. Try and save your vacation. I'm not saying don't go on vacation but if you can don't tell your work about shorter trips. This saves your PTO days to use when you really need to devote the whole day to your second job, like interviews, trying and trade shows.

How to work multiple high paying jobs #4. Be James Bond. Keep your mouth shut at all times never, no matter cool they are or drunk you are tell people you work with that you have 2 jobs. They will resent you and rat you out.

How to work multiple high paying jobs tip #5 have a #1 and #2. It help to make one job, typically your highest paying your top priority and the second job is your second priority. Have your health insurance with you first priority job but have a 401k at both jobs. If the second job asks why you are not doing health insurance and you are married tell them it is with your spouse. If you are divorced, say your ex has to cover you as a court order. If you are single never married, make something up like your father covers you under a military plan or plan or something

Qualities of a Good Lawyer

Simply because someone has been to law school and that they have had some knowledge on legal issues does not guarantee that they are good lawyers. There are qualities that you are supposed to first discern whether they are there or not. It is common knowledge that if you happen to trust a shoddy lawyer, then you should not expect to win any case. The most important quality of a lawyer is competence. This is usually derived from experience. It is advised that before you pick a certain lawyer, make a point of inquiring whether or not they have handled such a case, if they have you should then seek to establish whether or not they have won any.

Often overlooked is the fact that relationship and comfort are quite important whenever you are thinking of hiring an attorney. If you find that it is getting difficult for you to freely speak to your lawyer or that you are not by any chance comfortable in his presence then you should think of looking for another one. The underlying fact here is that there happens to be some form of communication breakdown between you and the attorney you intend to hire, then there is likelihood that you will not furnish them with the right information.

Agreeing on the mode of payment between you and your attorney is the best way to cause yourself disaster. Ensure that your lawyer is neither money-minded nor just logging hours on your pay cheque. A good lawyer will always have their sights focused on how to win a case as opposed to how to fleece you. Note that there are some law firms which have never won a single case but their capital base keeps increasing. Those are the type that will fleece you dry.

Take time to learn a prospective lawyer before thinking of hiring their services.
